Watch this video, you’re ‘Suir’ to want to visit!

Ireland's Ancient East

Ireland’s Ancient East is easily reached from either Shannon or Dublin airports, there are so many castles to see, ruins to explore. We are incredibly lucky to have such a wealth of history on our doorstep and all so easily reached. It’s easy to see how life went on all those years ago, whether it be at the ancient passage grave at Newgrange (at 6,000 years old, it was built before the pyramids in Eygpt) or at the stately Kilkenny Castle (only 600 years old). You can walk in the steps of the Hight Kings of Ireland at the Rock of Cashel or experience some of the desperation of famine victims at Donaghmore Famine Workhouse.
